# LocalProof Terms of Service

Effective September 26, 2026.

LocalProof is operated by Davisville Labs LLC. By using the public site, machine interfaces, free operations, or paid research operations, you agree to these terms.

## Research service and evidence boundary

LocalProof provides source-backed research derived from official public records and government systems. Results are informational research support. They are not legal advice, zoning opinions, title reports, engineering advice, tax advice, lending advice, insurance advice, investment advice, or a guarantee that a proposed use is lawful or approved.

A missing record means only that the bounded released sources and search did not return that record. It does not prove that no permit, violation, restriction, proceeding, right, duty, or other record exists. Zoning and General Plan fields are planning-context evidence, not parcel-wide legal conclusions or development-right determinations.

## Source limitations and corrections

Public systems can be incomplete, delayed, unavailable, changed, corrected, or internally inconsistent. LocalProof preserves source, retrieval, freshness, and evidence limitations where the operation contract supports them. Report material source errors to hello@davisvillelabs.com so they can be investigated against the authoritative source.

## Paid operations and billing

Current prices, released jurisdictions, and available payment methods are published through the live capability and payment-challenge surfaces. Paid requests must pass identity, jurisdiction, source-routing, and operation eligibility checks before a LocalProof payment challenge is issued. A payment challenge or attempted payment is not a completed purchase. Settlement and result delivery are separate states.

If settlement succeeds but delivery fails, the documented recovery path is to retry the identical request with the identical payment credential so the prior settlement can be recovered without another charge when the payment rail supports it. For duplicate charges, incorrect charges, or a settled operation that cannot be recovered through the documented retry path, contact hello@davisvillelabs.com. Billing corrections and refunds are handled according to applicable law, the payment provider's rules, and any terms expressly presented with the transaction.

## Acceptable use and caller responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of information you submit, for deciding whether to rely on a LocalProof result, and for complying with laws, contracts, authorization requirements, and internal policies that apply to your use. Do not use LocalProof to harass, stalk, discriminate against, or unlawfully target a person; to probe private systems without authorization; to submit credentials or secrets; to evade access controls; or to misrepresent a LocalProof result as government certification, legal clearance, or a guaranteed outcome.

LocalProof is a property and local public-record research service, not a consumer reporting or background-screening service. Do not use LocalProof to make, recommend, score, rank, or support decisions about an individual's eligibility for credit, employment, promotion, residential tenancy or housing, insurance, government benefits, or another purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act or similar consumer-reporting law.

## Intellectual property and source material

Government and other public-source records remain subject to the rights, notices, and terms applicable to those sources. Davisville Labs owns or licenses the LocalProof software, schemas, normalization logic, documentation, branding, and original presentation. These terms do not grant ownership of third-party public records.

## Disclaimer and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LocalProof is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without a guarantee of completeness, currency, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Davisville Labs LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, business opportunities, or third-party decisions arising from use of LocalProof. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

## Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. We may update these terms as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version.
